After
being with Fort Wayne National Bank from 1974 to 1985, Jim joined HJI,
Inc. in 1985 to oversee and expand financial and operational activities
for the owner, Hugh W. Johnston, Sr. At that time, HJI’s primary
business activity was retail manufactured housing sales centers and the
construction, ownership and management of manufactured housing communities.
Over time the focus expanded to real estate acquisition, development,
and holding. That employment relationship still continues and Jim currently
oversees the majority of HJI’s and Mr. Johnston’s business
ventures.
Because of HJI’s increase in real estate, Jim acquired his salesperson
license in June, 2000, and then received his broker license in June, 2001
with Goldstine Knapke Company, now Martin Goldstine Knapke. Jim has an
Associate's Degree from Indiana University and a Bachelor's Degree from
Purdue.
